Styles and Wine Composition
WHITE WINES
- Bianco (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of grape varieties approved for the region of Abruzzo
- Varietals (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 85% of any one of the listed grape varieties + OAG
- Dual, triple, or quadruple varietals (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of two, three, or four varieties listed above (minimum 15% each), listed on label in descending order
ROSATO WINES
- Rosato (Ro, RoFr): Any proportions of grape varieties
- Varietals (Ro, RoFr): Minimum 85% Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Maiolica, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, Primitivo, Sangiovese, or Syrah + OARG
RED WINES
- Rosso (Rd, RdFr): Any proportions of grape varieties approved for the region of Abruzzo
- Varietals (Rd, RdFr): Minimum 85% any one of the listed red grape varieties + OAG
- Dual, triple, or quadruple varietals (Rd, RdFr,): Any proportions of two, three, or four varieties listed above (minimum 15% each), listed on label in descending order

DESSERT AND SPECIALTY WINES
- Bianco Passito (Wh, WhSw): Same as Bianco
- Rosso Passito (Rd, RdSw): Same as Rosso
Significant Production Rules
- Zone of production: Entire region of Abruzzo
- Grapes for Passito may be dried on or off the vine
- Minimum alcohol level: 10.0% for Bianco; 10.5% for Rosato and Rosso; 11.0% for Novello; 11.0% for Passito (16.0% potential)
- Aging: No minimums specified
