Styles and Wine Composition

WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh, WhSw): Minimum 20% Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, and/or Welschriesling; maximum 80% Garganega, Nosiola, Sauvignon Blanc, and/or Trebbiano Toscano
  • Chardonnay (Wh, WhFr, WhSw, WhFrSw): Minimum 85% Chardonnay + OANWG
  • Pinot Bianco (Wh, WhFr, WhSw, WhFrSw): Minimum 85% Pinot Bianco + OANWG
  • Pinot Grigio (Wh): Minimum 85% Pinot Grigio + OANWG
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro, RoSw): Minimum 50% Lambrusco a Foglia Frastagliata (locally Enantio) and/or Schiava (Gentile, Grigia, and/or Grossa); maximum 50% Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, Merlot, Pinot Nero, and/or Teroldego
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd, RdSw): Minimum 50% Lambrusco a Foglia Frastagliata and/or Schiava; maximum 50% Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, Merlot, Pinot Nero, and/or Teroldego
  • Schiava (Rd): Minimum 85% Schiava + OANRG

Significant Production Rules

  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco, Chardonnay tranquillo, Pinot Bianco tranquillo, Pinot Grigio, Rosato, and Schiava; 11.0% for Chardonnay frizzante, Pinot Bianco frizzante, and Rosso
  • Residual sugar: Maximum 6 g/l (0.6%) for white varietals
  • Aging: No minimums specified
