High in acidity and tannin; light in body and color (usually with an orange or garnet tinge). Aromas & flavors: Fresh flowers, red berries (cranberry), spices (white pepper), sometimes bitter almond. Best DOPs: Grignolino d’Asti DOC, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC.
