Grenache

Grenache is a widely distributed international variety that is found in several regions of Italy under other names. Known by the French name Grenache in many countries and as Garnacha in Spain, the variety is a genetic match with Alicante, Cannonau, Tai Rosso, and Vernaccia Nera in Italy, where each has developed on its own for centuries. Cannonau in particular has a long history of isolation in Sardegna. See each of those as separate entries.
