  • Bianco (Wh): Maximum 40% Mantonico; maximum 30% Chardonnay; maximum 20% Greco Bianco; maximum 10% Malvasia Bianca; maximum 45% OAWG
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro): Maximum 45% Aglianico; maximum 45% Gaglioppo (locally Arvino); maximum 10% Greco Nero and/or Nerello Cappuccio; maximum 45% OARG
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd): Maximum 45% Aglianico; maximum 45% Gaglioppo; maximum 10% Greco Nero and/or Nerello Cappuccio; maximum 45% OARG
  • Superiore (Rosso)

Significant Production Rules

  • Maximum vineyard elevation: 700 m (2,300 ft) in the Classico subzone
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco; 11.0% for Rosato; 12.0% for Rosso; 13.5% for Superiore
  • Aging: For Superiore, minimum 3 years (ERD = November 1, V+3)
