History: Established as a DOC in 1987
Vineyard Area: 45 ha / 110 acres (2017)
Production: 1,510 hl / 16,800 cases (2017)
Principal White Grape Varieties: Albana, Grechetto, Montù, Trebbiano
Styles and Wine Composition:
  • Bianco (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 40% Albana and/or Trebbiano Romagnolo + OANWG
  • Montuni (Wh, WhFr, WhSw, WhFrSw): Minimum 85% Montù (locally Montuni) + OANWG
  • Spumante (WhSp, WhSpSw): Can be made by a second fermentation of Bianco or Montuni

Significant Production Rules:
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco and Montuni; 11.0% for Spumante
  • Residual sugar: Spumante can range from secco to dolce
  • Aging: No minimums specified
