ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro): Minimum 50% Sangiovese + OARG
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd): Minimum 50% Sangiovese + OARG
  • Cabernet Sauvignon (Rd): Minimum 85% Cabernet Sauvignon + OAG
  • Merlot (Rd): Minimum 85% Merlot + OAG

Significant Production Rules

  • Maximum vineyard elevation: 550 m (1,805 ft)
  • Spumante wines may undergo second fermentation either in bottles or in autoclaves
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco; 11.0% for Trebbiano, Rosato, and Spumante; 11.5% for Grechetto, Rosso, Novello, and Superiore; 12.0% for red varietals; 12.5% for Rosso Riserva; 13.0% for red varietal riservas
  • Aging: For Riserva, minimum 2 years (ERD = November 1, V+2)
