WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh): Minimum 80% Falanghina; 15–20% Trebbiano Toscano; maximum 5% OAWG
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro): 75–80% Montepulciano; 20–25% Tintilia; maximum 5% OANRG
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd): 75–80% Montepulciano; 20–25% Tintilia; maximum 5% OANRG
  • Riserva (Rosso)

Significant Production Rules

  • Maximum vineyard elevation: 600 m (1,970 ft)
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco; 11.0% for Rosato and Rosso; 12.5% for Riserva
  • Aging: For Rosso, minimum 1 year, including 6 months in barrel (ERD = November 1, V+1); for Riserva, minimum 4 years, including 2 years in barrel and 6 months in bottle (ERD = May 1, V+5)

Note: Before 2014, Bianco was Trebbiano based (60–70% Trebbiano Toscano; 30–40% Bombino Bianco; maximum 10% OAWG), and the aging requirements for Rosso and Riserva were half as long.
