WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of white grape varieties approved for the region of Lazio
  • Varietals (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 85% Bellone, Bombino Bianco, Capolongo, Malvasia, Maturano, Moscato, Pampanaro, Passerina, or Pinot Bianco + OAWG
  • Dual or triple varietals (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of two or three varieties approved for the region of Lazio, listed on label in descending order; no OAG
  • Vino della Ciociaria (Bianco and white varietals)
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro, RoFr): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Lazio
  • Varietals (Ro, RoFr): Minimum 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Lecinaro, Merlot, Olivella, Sangiovese, or Syrah + OARG

Significant Production Rules

  • Zone of production: Entire province of Frosinone
  • Grapes for Passito must be dried on or off the vine to achieve a minimum sugar level of 272 g/l (27.2%)
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco, white varietals, Rosato, and rosato varietals; 11.0% for Rosso, red varietals, and Novello; 12.0% for Vino della Ciociaria; 16.0% potential for Passito
  • Aging: No minimums specified
