Styles and Wine Composition
WHITE WINES
- Bianco (Wh): Any proportions of white grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
- Varietals (Wh): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed white grape varieties + OANWG
ROSATO WINES
- Rosato (Ro): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
- Varietals (Ro): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed red grape varieties + OANRG
RED WINES
- Rosso (Rd): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
- Varietals (Rd): Minimum 85% any one of the allowed red grape varieties + OANRG
- Novello (Rosso, red varietals)
Significant Production Rules
- Zone of production: Numerous communes in the province of Bergamo
- Minimum alcohol level: 10.0% for Schiava Rosato; 11.0% for all other wines
- Residual sugar: Maximum 20 g/l (2.0%) for Moscato amabile
- Aging: No minimums specified
