  • Varietals (Rd): Minimum 85% Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marzemino, Merlot, or Sangiovese + OARG
  • Novello (Rd): Minimum 70% Marzemino, Merlot, and/or Sangiovese + OARG

Significant Production Rules

  • Zone of production: Communes of Azzano Mella, Borgosatollo, Capriano del Colle, Castenedolo, Flero, and Poncarale in the province of Brescia
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for all frizzante wines; 10.5% for Bianco tranquillo, Rosso, and Sangiovese; 11.0% for Novello and for all still varietals except Sangiovese
  • Aging: No minimums specified
