  • Bianco (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of white grape varieties approved for the region of Liguria
  • Varietals (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 85% Malvasia Bianca Lunga or Trebbiano Toscano + OAWG
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro): Any proportions of grape varieties approved for the region of Liguria
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd, RdFr): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Liguria
  • Varietals (Rd, RdFr): Minimum 85% Canaiolo Nero, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Pollera Nera, Sangiovese, Syrah, or Vermentino Nero + OARG
  • Novello (Rosso)
DESSERT AND SPECIALTY WINES
  • Bianco Passito (Wh, WhSw): Any proportions of grape varieties approved for the region of Liguria
  • Rosso Passito (Rd, RdSw): Any proportions of grape varieties approved for the region of Liguria

Significant Production Rules

  • Zone of production: Entire province of La Spezia
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.5% for Bianco, white varietals, Rosato, and red varietals; 11.5% for Rosso; 13.5% for Passito (15.0% potential)
  • Aging: No minimums specified
