WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh): Any proportions of white grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
  • Varietals (Wh): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed white grape varieties + OANWG
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
  • Varietals (Ro): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed red grape varieties + OANRG
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the region of Lombardia
  • Varietals (Rd): Minimum 85% any one of the allowed red grape varieties + OANRG
  • Novello (Rosso, red varietals)

Significant Production Rules

  • Zone of production: Numerous communes in the province of Bergamo
  • Minimum alcohol level: 10.0% for Schiava Rosato; 11.0% for all other wines
  • Residual sugar: Maximum 20 g/l (2.0%) for Moscato amabile
  • Aging: No minimums specified
