Styles and Wine Composition:
WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh, WhFr): Any proportions of white grape varieties approved for the production area
  • Varietals (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed white grape varieties (which vary by region and province within the IGP) + OAG
  • Dual varietals (Wh, WhFr): Minimum 50% of first-named variety; maximum 50% of other variety
ROSATO WINES
  • Rosato (Ro, RoFr): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the production area
  • Varietals (Ro, RoFr): Minimum 85% of any one of the allowed red grape varieties (which vary by region and province within the IGP) + OAG
  • Dual varietals (Ro, RoFr): Minimum 50% of first-named variety; maximum 50% of other variety
RED WINES
  • Rosso (Rd, RdFr): Any proportions of red grape varieties approved for the production area
  • Varietals (Rd, RdFr): Minimum 85% any one of the allowed red grape varieties (which vary by region and province within the IGP) + OAG
  • Dual varietals (Rd, RdFr): Minimum 50% of first-named variety; maximum 50% of other variety
  • Novello (Rosso, red varietals)

Significant Production Rules:
  • Zone of production: The entire regions of Friuli–Venezia Giulia and Veneto, plus the entire province of Trento in Trentino–Alto Adige
  • Minimum alcohol level: 9.0% for all wines except 11.0% for Novello
  • Aging: No minimums specified
