Significant Production Rules:
  • Zone of production: Entire provinces of Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna, and Rimini, plus 10 communes in the province of Bologna; for Grechetto Gentile only, the zone is just the 10 communes in Bologna and 4 communes in Ravenna
  • Minimum alcohol level: 8.5% potential for Mosto di Uve Parzialmente Fermentato; 10.0% for all wines except 11.0% for Novello and 13.0% potential for Passito
  • Residual sugar: Spumante wines can be produced at any sweetness level, from brut nature (zero dosage) to dolce
  • Aging: No minimums specified
