WHITE WINES
  • Bianco (Wh): Any proportions of Chardonnay, Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, Picolit, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and/or Welschriesling (aka Riesling Italico); maximum 15% Gewürztraminer and/or Müller-Thurgau
  • Chardonnay (Wh): Minimum 85% Chardonnay + OAWG
  • Friulano (Wh): Minimum 85% Friulano + OAWG
  • Malvasia (Wh): Minimum 85% Malvasia Istriana + OAWG
  • Müller-Thurgau (Wh): Minimum 85% Müller-Thurgau + OAWG
  • Picolit (WhSw): Minimum 85% Picolit + OAWG
  • Pinot Bianco (Wh): Minimum 85% Pinot Bianco + OAWG

  • Cabernet Franc (Rd): Minimum 85% Cabernet Franc + OARG
  • Cabernet Sauvignon (Rd): Minimum 85% Cabernet Sauvignon + OARG
  • Merlot (Rd): Minimum 85% Merlot + OARG
  • Pinot Nero (Rd): Minimum 85% Pinot Nero + OARG
  • Riserva (Rosso, red varietals)

Significant Production Rules

  • Minimum alcohol level: 11.5%, except 14.0% (potential) for Picolit
  • Aging: For white riservas, minimum 20 months (ERD = July 1, V+2); for red riservas, minimum 30 months, including 6 months in barrel (ERD = May 1, V+3)
